History

Hillcrest is built on land once owned by William Gillitt, after whom the nearby suburb of Gillitts is named. The land was once a portion of Gillitt's farm, which was named "Albinia". A major building boom took place in Hillcrest in the late 1990s and 2000s, transforming the area from a sleepy country village into a bustling property hotspot.

Climate

Hillcrest enjoys warm weather virtually year-round. While winter evenings in July and August can get chilly, dropping to lows of approximately 7°C, the highs will be around 20°C during the day. The hottest months of the year, January to March, will regularly see the mercury rising into the low to mid 30s during the heat of the day.
